They live out during the long daylight hours between the months of May and September, when they graze on clean pastures thanks to Shetland’s pristine natural environment. In the harsh winter months they are kept indoors and their main forage is silage cut from locally grown grass. The cows are milked twice a day at set times. They’re very at home and familiar with the routine.
